A fun day out for all the family!

Come for steam train rides on our Steaming Days, plus ride the miniature railway, watch the model trains, visit the Railway Museum and Visitor Centre, plus lots more...

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, we have closed The Railway until the end of June. Please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more up to date information as Government guidelines change.

We hope everyone stays safe and well during this worrying time, and we look forward to seeing you later in the year...

23rd March - Coronavirus Update:

Due to government guidelines concerning the Covid-19 outbreak, we have now closed the railway until the end of June to protect our visitors, staff and volunteers. We hope to reschedule all of the cancelled events as soon as we are able, therefore, we ask please that those of you who have pre-booked tickets to any of the cancelled events, can you hold onto them and wait for the new date. You will be able to use your tickets for the rescheduled date of the event you had booked or to any other event of your choice within 12 months of us re-opening - the exception being Christmas or Thomas (if you have Thomas tickets you will be contact by our ticketing agent Quay Tickets shortly).

We can of course offer a refund if required (please call: 01296 655720 or email: office@bucksrailcentre.org) however we are only a small society and if we had to refund everyone who has pre-booked one of the eight special events that we have had to cancel, then it will hit us hard financially, especially with us having to close for three months.
NB Unfortunately, we can only refund the ticket price, refunds will not include the booking fee, which is paid to our ticketing agency.

We thank you for your understanding during this worrying time and wish you all well... And of course, look forward to welcoming you back to Buckinghamshire Railway Centre in the future.

20th March 2020: Coronavirus Update

We are sorry to report that the tough decision has been made by our Executive Committee, for the safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors, to keep the centre closed until the end of June. We hope that all events will be postponed until a later date, so if customers have pre-booked tickets to any event (except Thomas - see below), please hold on to your tickets if you can and wait until we re-schedule.If you have any ticketing queries, please call the office on 01296 655720 or email: office@bucksrailcentre.org. We will keep visitors updated here and on Facebook when further decisions are made.

Cancelled Events as at 19th March:

Day Out With Thomas Easter and June; Teddy's Train Ride: 26th April; Peppa Pig: 10th May; Spring Steam Gala: 24/25th May; 1940s Weekend: 6/7th June; Dinosaur Day: 14th June; Father's Day and the Ridgeway Run: 21st June.

Day Out With Thomas
Update 19th March 2020: Sadly, we are cancelling our June Thomas event as well.
18th March: It is with a heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Easter Day Out With Thomas event in light of the Covid-19 situation. We know you and your children will be disappointed and we are very sorry. There are two reasons we have made this decision:
With government advice as it stands, we are set to lose our volunteer army to self-isolation as the large majority of them fall within the vulnerable category, and we need dozens of them to help run each day of this four-day event. We hope you understand that we cannot ask them to put themselves at risk at this worrying time. Secondly, there are times during A Day Out With Thomas that parts of our railway get quite crowded and obviously government advice is currently to avoid these situations.

Our ticketing agent, Quay Tickets, will be in touch with you directly in the next few days with regards to moving or refunding your tickets.
