How To Get Here

Watch out for the brown signs above off the A41 near Waddesdon and the A413 at Whitchurch.

See below for HS2 road closures!

By Car

SatNav postcode: HP22 4BY

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is on the outskirts of Quainton, a village situated half way between Bicester and Aylesbury just off the A41, and south of Buckingham. Watch out for our brown railway attraction signs off the A41 near Waddesdon and the A413 at Whitchurch. If you are coming from Aylesbury direction, due to lots of new housing developments which upset some SatNav systems, we advise you to remain on the A41 until you have driven through Waddesdon, then follow the signs.

Junctions 7, 8 and 9 of the M40 are all close by and the M1, M25, M4 and M40 network makes the Centre easily accessible from London, the South East and the Midlands. Ample free car parking is provided for cars and coaches.

By Train

Our nearest station is Aylesbury Vale Parkway which is just 4 miles away. This station is connected to the village of Waddesdon by the Greenway Path which is a footpath suitable for walking or cycling. From Waddesdon it is only 1.5 miles to us. Trains also come in to Aylesbury Town station which is 6 miles away and there is a taxi rank here.

By Bus

We have a bus stop directly outside the entrance to our car park, however, unfortunately, the bus service does not run on Sundays. Red Rose bus service no.16 runs from Aylesbury Bus Station to Quainton and back on Monday-Saturdays. Please click here for the bus timetable Or visit: www.redrosetravel.com. For bus information telephone their travel-line on 0871 200 2233 and select England and South East on the menu.

HS2 Roadworks
Please be aware of road closures due to HS2 works:
Visitors coming along the A41 from Bicester CAN currently turn left off the A41 onto Station Road. If it is closed, continue into Waddesdon, then turn left just after the pedestrian crossing onto Quainton Road and continue until you come to a crossroads with Station Road. Turn right here and go over the railway bridge and you will see Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on the right.

The railway bridge next to us may be closed - if so, you simply need to follow the diversion round Snake Lane and into Quainton, then turn right onto Station Road.

If you come to us via Quainton Village, please be aware that although it may say that the road ahead is closed, access to us IS still possible. (The road closure is after us.)
