The highlight of the day is the steam train ride!
You do not need to book a specific time for your train ride. Our steam train runs up and down the track all day long and you can take a journey as many times as you like, whenever you like! We are officially a steam museum and only have a short running line, about 1/2 mile, so the train goes up and down this length of track twice before stopping at the same platform as where you started. We have it under good authority from those who visit us regularly, that this is the perfect length for families with young children who have a tendancy to get bored if the train journey is much longer!
Our train has vintage carriages which have steps up into them and narrow doorways which mean wheelchairs cannot fit in the carriages. We can, however, fit wheelchairs into our guard's van at the back of the train using a ramp, which means wheelchair users can still enjoy a train ride (one which many train enthusiasts would prefer over sitting in a carriage!)
