Come along and enjoy a brand-new event with us! We’re delighted to welcome Fun with Trains on Sunday 4 October 2026.

Explore their giant train track layout in our Main Visitor Centre, where children can enjoy hands-on play with their favourite character motorised trains. With tunnels, stations, garages, bridges and plenty of interactive features, there’s something to capture every young railway enthusiast’s imagination. Watch the trains race around the track, join in the fun, and best of all – there’s no need to tidy it all away at the end of the day!

Suitable for children and young people aged 18 months to 18 years.

As well as the giant train tracks, you can enjoy a ride behind one of our full-size steam trains, running throughout the day. Our miniature ride-on railway, operated by our sister society VAMES, will also be in action. A small charge of £1.50 per person applies for miniature train rides, with under 3s riding free.
