After 40 years of restoration, Wightwick Hall no. 6989 is finally being launched into steam at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on Sunday 3rd March.
Having passed her steam test in December, we simply can't wait until the full open season to show off this stunning locomotive. We've waited so long, we simply can't wait any longer!
Come for a ride behind Wightwick Hall!
The Great British Weather Beware!
We hope that the whole site will be open for this special launch day. We are opening during our closed season especially for this exciting event. We do hope that we will be able to open the Railway Museum and run the miniature railway, but this will depend on the weather! If it is extremely cold/icy, we may not be able to open the bridges to take you over to the Museum and the miniature railway may not be able to run.
The Visitor Centre with shop and cafe, however, will all be open. The cafe will be serving hot and cold food and drinks and snacks.
If there are several inches of snow, the site may close and the event may have to be cancelled due to staff not being able to get in to run the event. If this is the case, pre-booked tickets will be refunded.
