Opening times: 10.30am to 5.00pm (4.30pm on weekdays)
A full size locomotive will be in steam offering unlimited free train rides. Train rides can also be taken on our miniature railway for a small charge (£1 per person age 3+)
Also, visit The Railway Museum, enjoy our large Visitor Centre and the locomotive and carriages housed inside, plus our Travelling POst Office. We have 23 acres of site to wander round at your leisure with engines, carriages and rolling stock all around for you to admire. Many of our items are in the restoration queue, whereas others are already beautifully restored back to their former glory! We hope you enjoy looking at each and every one of our railway items and enjoy them for their beauty - even if they look in need of a little TLC - their time will come!
Hot and cold meals/snacks are available in the cafe and our well-stocked gift shop will be open.
Please allow three working days for tickets to be delivered.
Please note: Six times a year we run our Steam Train Driver Experience courses - on these days public passenger train rides do not begin until around 12.30pm. The rest of the site is open from 10.30am and you can even watch the 'learner drivers' as they practice their driving skills on the track! We will let you know about these on our website and on Facebook. The next one is on Sunday 1st September 2019. If you would like to book one for yourself or someone else, please call the office on 01296 655720. Please be aware that they book up quite far in advance!
