A chance to visit the site on a quieter day.
There are no train rides on a Static Day and the Miniature Railway will not be running, but the Railway Museum will be open. You can also enjoy our stunning glass-roofed Visitor Centre with steam locomotive, carriages and other exhibits on display, such as the Victorian Royal Dining Coach and the carriage reportedly built for Winston Churchill and Eisenhower to have secret war strategy meetings!
Engine sheds are closed unless volunteers are working on particular engines.
The gift shop will be open and self-service hot and cold drinks and snacks (biscuits, crisps etc) will be available.
Ticket prices are much reduced on Static Days:
Open from the beginning of April until the end of September
