For those who valued history, craftsmanship or the romance of steam, our museum provides a meaningful place to say goodbye. We have a bright and peaceful area for receptions and wakes, where stories can be told and memories shared, nestled between our historic restored carriages.

Our dedicated team will be on hand to make things as easy as possible for you. From helping with the initial planning and decision-making, to being there on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly, and to add all the little touches to make the day special.

Ash Scattering

We can scatter your loved one’s ashes on a separate occasion, usually on a Sunday when we have an engine in steam. You will be invited onto the footplate of the steam loco, where you can then place the ashes into the firebox. For those who hold their wake here, this is offered as a complimentary service.
