CURRENT HS2 ROAD CLOSURE:

Station Road South and the railway bridge by our entrance are closed from 1 Sept until May 2026.
You must now come into the village of Quainton and turn down Station Road. Please follow our up to date detailed directions below:

How to get to us!
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is on the outskirts of Quainton, a small village situated half way between Bicester and Aylesbury just off the A41. We are 15 miles south of Buckingham and 20 miles north of Oxford.

How to get to us by car:

Directions from Sept 1st:

From Bicester: Drive east along the A41, go all the way through Waddesdon and turn left at the new roundabout and go over the new HS2 bridge and then go straight over the next roundabout, signposted to Quainton. Follow the road for a mile or so, then turn left onto The Willows, signposted Quainton, continue into the village, past The Green, then turn left down Station Road (it will say the road is closed, but the closure is after our entrance.)

From Aylesbury: Drive west along the A41 past Aylesbury Parkway railway station, then turn right at the HS2 roundabout, signposted to Waddesdon/Quainton along the new section of A41, then turn right at the next roundabout, signposted to Quainton. Follow the road for a mile or so then turn left onto The Willows, signposted Quainton, continue into the village, past The Green, then turn left down Station Road (it will say the road is closed, but the closure is after our entrance.)

From Whitchurch: Come down Pitchcott Hill and turn right onto The Willows, signposted Quainton, continue into the village, past The Green, then turn left down Station Road (it will say the road is closed, but the closure is after our entrance.)

From Buckingham/The Claydons: Come through Botolph Claydon, turning off on the bend signposted to Quainton, go past Hogshaw Farm and turn left at Shipton Lee. Continue into the village and turn right onto Station Road (it will say the road is closed, but the closure is after our entrance.)

Junctions 7, 8 and 9 of the M40 are all close by. The M1, M25, M4 and M40 network makes the Centre easily accessible from London, the South East and the Midlands.

How to get to us by train:

Our nearest station is Aylesbury Vale Parkway which is just 4 miles away. This station is connected to the village of Waddesdon by the Greenway Path which is a footpath suitable for walking or cycling. From Waddesdon it is only 1.5 miles to us. Trains also come in to Aylesbury Town station which is 6 miles away and there is a taxi rank there.

How to get to us by bus:

We have a bus stop directly outside the entrance to our car park, however, unfortunately, the bus service does not run on Sundays. Red Rose bus service no.16 runs from Aylesbury Bus Station to Quainton and back Monday-Saturdays. Please click here for the bus timetable or visit: www.redrosetravel.com. HS2 Roadworks:

Please be aware of road closures due to HS2 works:
Station Road South is now closed from 1 Sept 2025 to May 2026. You will NOT be able to access us along Station Road from the south. 

Snake Lane/Fiddlers Field is now closed, so visitors travelling from the Claydons will need to continue into Quainton and turn right down Station Road.
