Panto Express tickets: SOLD OUT!

Please note: Due to the majority of compartments now being booked up, customers are no longer able to change their bookings to a different time/date. Sorry, but we are not able to offer refunds on cancellations.

PANTO EXPRESS: The Panto Express is back this Christmas, so you can all see Father Christmas on the train, and then you can enjoy our shorter version of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella!

MID-WEEK CAFE: 
Our Railway Cafe and Gift Shop inside our visitor centre remain open Monday-Friday, 9.30am-1.30pm with no entry ticket required. Please note, there are no steam train rides or access to the rest of the site, just the close vicinity outside - which includes plenty of railway artefacts to look at, cafe benches and our brand new play area!

STEAMING SUNDAYS:
Steaming Sundays have now finished for 2022 until next season. We will be open for Panto Express, and then for February half term, and then we re-open for the 2023 season on April 2nd 2023.

PLAN YOUR VISIT:
Our Steaming Season 2023 starts on 2nd April and runs until 29th October, when you can come for steam train rides on our Steaming Days and Special Events. Plus, you can ride the miniature railway, watch the model trains, visit the Railway Museum and Visitor Centre with shop and Railway Cafe. Our Steaming Days/Special Events are on Sundays and Bank Holidays, plus most Wednesdays during school holidays. To plan your visit and find out much more information about what's on offer, CLICK HERE

ROAD CLOSURE: 
Please note that the bridge near our entrance has been closed since August 2022.
Coming from Aylesbury: Come through the Berryfields development and directly into Quainton. After the village green on your right, turn left down Station Road, although it will say Station Road is closed, the closure is beyond our entrance. 
Coming from Bicester: Turn left at the new traffic lights onto Station Road from the A41 and then, just before the bridge, you will be diverted to the left and back round into Quainton village. You can then turn right down Station Road after the primary school, although it will say Station Road is closed, the closure is beyond our entrance. 
Coming from The Claydons: Come through Botolph Claydon, into Quainton and turn right down Station Road just after the primary school, although it will say Station Road is closed, the closure is beyond our entrance. 
Coming from Whitchurch: Come through Whitchurch, Oving and Pitchcott and turn right at the crossroads and come into Quainton village. After the village green on yur right, turn left down Station Road, although it will say Station Road is closed, the closure is beyond our entrance.

NEW FUNDING APPEAL FOR MET 1:

A new appeal has been set up by Quainton Railway Society executive committee to raise £70,000 to complete the overhaul of our flagship locomotive Metropolitan No.1.

NEW LOCO AT QUAINTON!
Thrilled to announce that one of our members has purchased loco no.2138 Swordfish, and will be keeping her here for us to steam!


BOOKING TIP:
Please note that our booking system still has 'arrival slots' in place (we used this system to stagger entry times during Covid restrictions), however, visitors are able to turn up any time from 10.30am, whichever slot you choose. So if morning slots are all booked, simply book an afternoon slot and come whenever is convenient to you!
