We are pleased to announce that we are re-opening on Sunday 2nd August 2020. We can’t wait to welcome you back! We’ve missed you all!

Currently all special events are postponed, and we will only be running steaming days until further notice.

Update 5th July 2020
Following the government announcement on the continued
relaxation of the lock-down restrictions, we will remain closed for the time
being, and hope to re-open at the start of August.
Please keep an eye on this page for updates and tickets when they are made available.
this time we will gradually be welcoming back the majority of our volunteers
who have been affected by lock-down and not at the railway centre, and this time
will allow us to put in place procedures to keep all our visitors and volunteers
safe. As we’ve been closed for a while we will be making sure our volunteers
are refreshed in their duties and briefed on keeping themselves and the public

COVID-19 Update June 5th 2020.
The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre would like to thank all its customers for their support and encouragement over the last few months. They have been and remain challenging times.
We are aware that many of our friends purchased advance tickets for a number of our 2020 events and we felt we should be communicating openly on how we are currently managing this situation, thus this posting.
Until more information is made available from Government about when and on what basis the Centre may be able to re-open the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is currently unable to confirm exactly what booked and advertised events in 2020 will be taking place. We have now taken the decision to suspend all new ticket sales for 2020 pending receipt of that information.
Subject to the receipt of Government advice and guidance we are currently intending to upgrade your purchase as follows:
If you have purchased a ticket for any of our events in 2020 the Centre will honour that purchase at the same, or a similar event in 2021. We realise that this may seem a long way off so, as a thank you, we will upgrade your purchase to include a complimentary entry on a standard Steaming Wednesday or Sunday in 2021. We will be processing vouchers for these upgrades in early 2021 so that we can manage them collectively. NB: We are unable to upgrade to Day out with Thomas events or Christmas Events.
With no regular cash flow, and complete uncertainty about when it may be able to safely open for paying customers, the Centre is currently reliant upon grants, donations from members and friends, plus a small residue of the 2019 income to cover its day to day running costs. NB: Donations can be made via the Centre's website and would be a great support at this time.
Our focus will always be on delivering a safe environment for our visitors, staff and volunteers and we thank you for working with us in these unprecedented times. NB: In normal circumstances, the Centre has a no-refund policy and looks to offer alternative dates in relation to all cancellations regardless of the reason and this remains in operation at this time.
This policy will be reviewed as more details are made available to the Centre so please keep an eye on the website and our Facebook Page for those updates.
